Joel visits Hotel Impossible and Anthony Melchiorri in Grand Lake, Colorado

One of the most exciting things I get to experience as an Internet marketer is the opportunity to help others with their marketing. Most frequently, the assistance I provide is private and personal. I don\’t share it with the world.

However, sometimes I get to share my ideas and knowledge in a more public forum, such as from the stage or in an article.

I\’m really excited about an opportunity that popped up in early February. I was invited to be a special guest on The Travel Channel\’s blockbuster show, Hotel Impossible.

I can\’t reveal much about the show before it airs, but I can tell you a little bit.

The show\’s host, Anthony Melchiorri, went to Grand Lake, Colorado, a wonderful little town that is the gateway to the western entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. The target hotel was The Western Riviera, a quaint hotel conveniently situated right on Grand Lake.

The town and hotel do great business in the summer months. People enter and leave Rocky Mountain National Park by going through Grand Lake.

However, the winter months become more challenging. Because of heavy snowfall in the mountains, the western entrance to the national park closes seven or eight months each year.

While Grand Lake has some of the most superb ice fishing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing in Colorado, most people don\’t make the trip because it appears to be \”out of the way.\”

Well, having spent several days in Grand Lake, I can tell you that it is well worth the trip. People NEED to know about beautiful Grand Lake, the wonderful people and shopping that the town has to offer, and the exciting activities that go full throttle when cold weather and snow arrive.

My job was to help the owners of the hotel (and town leadership) by providing a marketing and social media blueprint to help them communicate their winter opportunities to potential visitors.

Tonight\’s episode will focus on Anthony getting to know people of Grand Lake and helping the hotel owners, Mike and Jackie Tompkins, with some recommendations that will help turn the hotel around.

I will appear in a couple scenes, snowmobiling with Anthony and setting the stage for a marketing consult which would take place after the show.
