For the past few years, I have been slowly building a collection which has taken over my closet. Having grown up playing video games, I was there when the first home PC was introduced. I remember the thrill of playing Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy as a text adventure. (Incidentally, you can now play online for free. I remember when the first person shooter was born in the form of Wolfenstein 3D. I was there to see the rise and fall of Sierra Online and wasted many hours playing Sim City 2000.
Unfortunately, many people toss away old software the way your parents threw out your old comic books. The upside is that I have been able to salvage hundreds of titles and I now have something like a pc game museum in my closet!
I plan on documenting this collection sometime soon, perhaps adding it to this blog. I am just getting up the courage to dive into the project. And I suppose a few more hours in the day wouldn\’t hurt either…
