Twitter Power at the Book Expo America 2010

I\’ve spent the last few days in Manhattan for the annual Book Expo America (BEA).

My publisher, John Wiley & Sons, invited me to do a book signing at their booth today.

Twitter Power has become the world\’s best-selling book on Twitter, even translated into Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Portuguese.

I have revised and updated this book, and it is now available in paperback with the title Twitter Power 2.0.

Here are some photos of my time in New York…

When I first got to town, I woke up early the next morning for an interview with Tamsen Fadal on WPIX TV.

Later that evening, I walked to the Borders store at Madison Square Garden. I was pleased to see Twitter Power 2.0 prominently displayed on a table just inside the store. Can you find it?

The Book Expo America takes place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. The place is enormous.

I was scheduled to conduct my signing from 11am – 12 pm on the first day of the Expo.

I was in good company with other social media authors such as David Meerman Scott and Charlene Li.

Previous to my scheduled time, legendary actor Louis Gossett Jr. was signing his new book. Mr. Gossett is best known for his roles in Iron Eagle and An Officer and a Gentleman.

He was very kind and asked me a number of questions about where I lived and what my book was about. We ended up autographing our books and swapping with each other.

The team at Wiley had 200 copies of Twitter Power 2.0 ready to go for my hour at the table. I didn\’t think we would go through all the books.

Shannon Vargo, my Editor, surprised me by bringing a handful of copies of my NEW book, KaChing: How to Build an Online Business that Pays and Pays. It\’s always exciting to see your new book for the first time.

The title releases in June 2010.

There was no shortage of Sharpies on hand to sign books!

The line began forming fifteen minutes before I started signing, and it didn\’t let up for the entire hour!

I signed nearly 200 copies of Twitter Power 2.0. It was very gratifying to meet so many people who were excited about my book. A number told me that they were already following me while others confessed that Twitter was completely new to them and they were counting on me to show them what to do.

The signing was a massive success and I am grateful to the team at Wiley for pulling it together.

You can pick up a copy of Twitter Power 2.0 here.
