Several years ago, I came across an incredibly useful site which has continued to stay on my hitlist. Alexa.com has since been purchased by Amazon.com and they offer a free toolbar which I find indispenable.

Not only does Alexa give you more information about who owns a site, but it also provides a popularity ranking, links to similar sites AND a FREE popup blocker (which is highly customizable). Naturally, it wouldn\’t be an Amazon.com product without providing a direct link to shop.
Alexa is recommended as the most useful toolbar you can add to your Internet Explorer. It\’s free and takes about 30 seconds to painlessly install. Go grab it!
