Mel Gibson\’s continuing story…

I am completely dumbfounded by the heat that Mel Gibson is catching for his film, The Passion. In an age where \”tolerance\” is preached as a virtue and the First Amendment is wielded as the rationalization for every kind of aberrant behavior, I am amazed at how intolerant and oppressive some people are being in regard to Mel\’s upcoming movie.

I\’ve covered this some, here and here, but this latest news chaps my hide.

\"passion1.jpg\"The man has the right to make a movie about whatever he wants, whenever he wants and however he wants. People can decide to see it or not see it based on its own merits. But no, the thought police won\’t have any of it. It reeks of the weaknesses in their arguments and reasoning. People who fear live it out by attempting to silence others.

Don\’t get me wrong. I am Jewish through and through. It runs as much through my blood as it does those who would seek to stifle Mr. Gibson\’s film. But what this group of Jews is doing is EXACTLY what our ancestors did to Yeshua (Jesus) as portrayed in the Gospels, and thus, in the film! Oh, the irony of it all.

The Jewish leaders in Jesus\’ day did not like what He was saying. They refused to acknowledge His Messiahship, as many still do today, and they sought to kill Him! How are the Jews who are trying to put a gag on Mel Gibson any different? They aren\’t. They are full of spiritual pride and they continue to reject their Messiah. Fortunately, while we may not know how this movie will play out, we DO know how the story ends. One day, EVERY knee shall bow before our Lord.

For my Jewish brothers and sisters who are stuck in their Jewishness for no other reason than they were \”born that way\” or because they have bought into the blatant lie that Christians were responsible for the holocaust, may I suggest you open your heart to the truth?
