I have absolutely HAD it with MSN (ie: Microsoft Network). I need a dial-up service for when I am on the road, so I decided to cancel my Earthlink service just over two years ago and I signed on for two years with MSN at Best Buy. They were offering a $200 store gift card to sign on, so I figured what the heck.
My two years is up and I am going to cancel. Here\’s why.
Several times I have gone to look up an access number for a different area code on MSN\’s site. At least 50% of the time, the site has been unable to look up a number in the database, returning an error and suggesting I contact customer support.
Last night, I did just that. I was on hold for 40 minutes before even speaking with a rep. By the time I did get someone to pick up the phone, it took her 25 minutes to get me an access number! TWENTY FIVE MINUTES to tell me an access number in area code 580!
For a company whose business is Internet access, I find it incredible that neither the web site nor telephone support could provide a ten-digit number in less than five minutes.
So, who do you suggest for diall-up access when I am away from home?
