I\’m not a negative person.
Generally, I\’ve got a smile on my face and a bounce in my step.
But the moment I got off the plane in Miami for Affiliate Summit, I felt like I needed a shower.
No offense intended to any of my subscribers or friends that live at the tip of Florida, but I found it to be just a notch below absolutely miserable.
The humidity is stifling.
The city feels filthy.
And the people are… well… different.
I sat at a sidewalk cafe on South Beach dripping sweat and watched people walk by.
Sure, most of them looked like regular folk.
But there was also enough bizarre and strange characters that I was wondering if there was something in the drinking water.
Fortunately, the conference was fantastic!
I got to meet some great people face-to-face.
Among the list was Kris Jones of Pepperjam, Shoemoney, Todd Crawford of One Network Direct, Joshua Sloan of 1and1 and Mike Glover of Kontera. Of course, I have a stack of business cards a mile high and there are too many names to mention. But suffice to say that I made some new friends and had a great time.
While at the show, myself and my associate Joel Ownby, managed to spread the word about The Next Internet Millionaire and TextCast Live. I\’m very excited about both projects and can\’t wait to see how things unfold.
Bottom line…
Conference great!
Miami sucks.
