Life is beautiful. And life can be brutal. Depending on where you are on the journey, you may find yourself on top of the world, or looking up from the bottom.
While nothing is guaranteed on this spinning ball, except that none of us are on it for very long, in my opinion it is worthwhile to have hope that there is something more… something beyond our understanding… something more beautiful than we could ever imagine.
That\’s the hope of Easter. Whether you believe or not isn\’t relevant to whether or not it is a reality. It either is or it isn\’t.
If it turns out that it isn\’t, those who have believed lived a hopeful life. One that brought them a sense of peace throughout all the trials and tribulations of their time on earth. You could say that they were living a lie, but at least they lived a peaceful lie. And hopefully, one that spurred them to a life of service to others. Whether or not this is a good thing isn\’t for debate on this post.
But if it turns out that it IS reality, those who believed put their hope in something (and Someone) who is beyond beautiful… beyond amazing… beyond any words or thoughts our meager little minds could create or comprehend.
And in that moment, hope and faith will have turned into a life so magnificently abundant, full and complete that the time spent here on earth will have seemed like the commercials before the coming attractions before the movie.
The petty arguments and disputes will appear as trivial as they really were at the time.
Our connection to one another, and to our Creator, will be complete.
No more pain. No more striving. No more wars. No more tears. No more death. Only love.
Only…. love.
THIS… is the promise of Easter.
May the Son rise in your soul and may you experience the peace and beauty of hope.
Happy Easter to all who believe, and to all who don\’t.
