Fiverr: What Can You Get for Five Dollars?

Dan Nickerson recently pointed out a very interesting site to me.

It\’s called Fiverr.com.

The premise is that everyone can do something that is worth five dollars.

And, of course, there are people willing to pay five dollars to have that something done for them.

What kind of things can you get done for five dollars?

I spent some time on the site and am intrigued…

For example, current listings include:

I will draw a custom portrait of your pet for $5

I will make your ebook cover for $5

I will write anything of your choice on my face with a Sharpie for $5

I will sing a song over the telephone for $5

I will knit a scarf for you in any color you would like for $5

I will teach you how to read binary for $5

I will smoke a newport 100 cigarette while feeding a snake and send you a video for $5

I will send you a different chuck norris joke every day for a week for $5

I will show you how to extract DNA from vegetables for $5

Oh. My. Gosh.

Essentially, a Fiverr.com merchant agrees to receive $4 and the site takes a $1 commission.

This is a riot and I feel compelling to put it to the test!

So here\’s what I am going to do.

I will select various Fiverr services and post my results with you on this blog. I\’ve created a category called Fiverr.

This should be fun.
