Don\’t Think You Need Mobile Marketing? You\’re Nuts!

Do you remember the old days when we used to have to go to a desktop or laptop computer to search Google? It seems so long ago that looking for information was something that took place while you were seated in a chair at your home or office.

That\’s because mobile devices have become as ubiquitous as the people who use them.

When Apple came out with the iPhone in 2007, I was one of the early adopters to purchase one. In fact, I spent $599 on a device when they first came out. When Apple choose to lower the price by $200, I didn\’t gripe because I paid for what I believed was fair value.

And when Apple presented the software development kit to programmers and announced that we would be able to create apps which they would distribute and sell, I saw to it that my first app was one of the first 1000 apps in the iTunes appstore.

There has never been a doubt in my mind that mobile was the direction we were all headed. But even I am shocked and stunned at how quickly the landscape has changed in just six years.

Everywhere you turn, people of ALL ages are using their mobile phones and tablets. From senior citizens to young kids, the mobile device has become an appendage, and we all wonder how we ever lived without one (or two or three or more…)

With increasing numbers of us connected while on the move, it\’s absolute insanity for any business to neglect mobile marketing.

Take a look at some mobile stats in this infographic from SlickText.com

These statistics speak for themselves.

And because of the rise of mobile, it is more essential than ever before that content marketers leverage the power of mobile to get their message out.

It\’s not just about selling stuff. It\’s about bringing value in any venue, at any time, on demand.

From my personal experience, I can tell you that I have searched for content while in the doctor\’s office, at the grocery store, in Target, walking down the street, at a bar or restaurant, at a traffic light, at friend\’s homes, at conferences, in airports, and many more places.

I want my information and I want it NOW. And I\’m not alone.

In the coming years, people will be receiving the majority of their information and content on their mobile devices. For content marketers, this creates opportunity.

Readz.com is one company that has created a platform making it easier for content marketers to reach their intended market across all platforms.

Regardless of which platforms and formats businesses and marketers use to reach out to the prospects and customers, you can rest assured that those who are user-friendly to the masses will have an upper hand.

When it comes to content marketing on mobile, content creators will ignore it at their own peril.

Disclosure – This article was written on behalf of Readz and am being compensated for it. My thoughts and words are mine and not Readz. I\’ve been a big proponent of mobile from the beginning and believe that Readz is providing a solution which many content marketers may find useful. I would not have accepted this opportunity if I did not believe this to be true.
