Another one of THOSE days

You know the kind I am talking about.

The wife is sick, so I am up early to take them to school.

The server is crashing, so I am on the phone with my webmasters attempting to resolve it.

The call comes from school. My son may have chipped his tooth. He can\’t eat anything solid, so I pick him up and buy him a bowl of soup and take him to the dentist.

Overwhelmed. Frustrated. Tired.

And it\’s just Monday.

But I am learning to keep perspective. I may have been taken off guard, but God wasn\’t surprised by any of the events of the day. He\’s just watching to see how I deal with them.

Do I freak out? Do I get angry? Do I let it out on the jerk in front of me who wouldn\’t know a green light if it flashed right in his eyes? Yes, I guess I do all of the above.

But then I remember that all my worry and frustration is truly needless. It doesn\’t get me anywhere or accomplish anything. Well, it does make my blood pressure go up, but it doesn\’t accomplish any GOOD thing.

And so there it is. Once again I learn that trusting my Father in heaven is the surest road to peace and tranquility. Today can fall apart. My business can suffer. My schedule can be interupted.

But one thing will never change, and that is His love for me.

And that… is enough.
