Trade shows are notorious for celebrity appearances. Whether hired as a guest presenter or on site to hawk their latest products, people are always lining up to enjoy a brush with someone popular.
I didn\’t know what I was in for when I attended the 2015 International Toy Fair at New York City\’s Jacob Javits Convention Center. Because shortly after entering the expo hall I discovered that one of the worlds most popular and best-known Internet celebrities was currently at the Gund booth.
The celeb was none other than Grumpy Cat.
Now for those of you who have been living under a rock (or you don\’t have any kind of Internet-capable device… which is essentially the same thing), Grumpy Cat is an almost-three-year old (born April 2012) feline named Tardar Sauce whose face seems to be in a perpetual state of, well, grumpiness.
As a result of a photo posted on Reddit, Grumpy Cat become an overnight sensation and one of the most popular internet memes in history.

Tardar Sauce makes rare appearances, but true to trade show form, she was on hand for photos to support Gund\’s new line of Grumpy Cat plush toys.
I was able to spend a minute with Tardar Sauce, and with video camera rolling, I set out to turn that frown upside down by telling her some cat jokes.
Was she amused? Watch the video and find out.
Regardless, this adorable kitty won my heart and see seemed at least slightly interested in my microphone.
