The Electric Run in Denver

Walking has been my preferred form of exercise for over three years now. Very rarely do I miss a day that I don\’t hit the pavement or the treadmill for an hour or so. It\’s a great way to keep my body moving and clear my head.

When I find an opportunity to participate in a race/walk, I look for those that have an unusual spin.

The Electric Run definitely meets that criteria!

An immersive experience of light and sound, The Electric Run takes place in a number of cities around the country. I had the opportunity to participate in a 5K run/walk last night in Denver.

What exactly does this look like?

It takes place after sundown, which is a good thing since people come dressed in all kind of day-glo apparel!

Wearing neon necklaces and bracelets, tutus, wigs, bright clothing and flashing lights, thousands of people descended up the Western National arena in North Denver to the loud, pumping house music and RockStar Energy Drink-powered race.

They did a really good job of creating a course full of interesting light displays and electronic diversions.

Take a look at my video below to get a feel for what the race is all about, and maybe you\’ll want to see if it is coming to a city near you.
